The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Beaufort County will host the Bill Verity Golf Outing at Old Tabby Spring Island on Monday, September 30, 2024. The Club seeks to raise $50,000 at this event through player participation, donations, sponsorships, and an exciting silent auction. All proceeds will go towards funding the annual operating budget of the NBC Clubs.
The committee is chaired by NBC Board Member, Jack Crowley. “We have just 3 foursomes of golf left for this exciting event,” said Crowley. “Anyone looking to play in the event should register now online before we are sold out!”
Golf foursomes for the charity golf outing are $1,250 per round. Players are limited to 72, or just 18 foursomes, to ensure smooth and fast play on the course. Registration fees also include a boxed lunch of sandwiches and other lunch items catered by Spring Island, and an hour and a half cocktail reception with heavy hors oeuvres, beer, and wine immediately following the round of play. Liquor drinks will be available for purchase. Participating golfers will also be treated to some surprise giveaways.
Sponsorships for businesses start at just $250 for a hole sponsor and go up to $5,000 for the title sponsorship (still available). There are a limited number of hole sponsors left and businesses looking to give back to the community while advertising are encouraged to go online and purchase a hole to support the Clubs. Hole sponsorships include a 24 x 36” yard sign featuring the business logo at a tee box, and recognition on the golfer program.
The silent, online auction will be open to the public starting in early September. The auction features numerous rounds of golf from sought-after courses in the Lowcountry including Secession, Dataw, May River, and Pleasant Point, as well as several restaurants and a vacation. Check out the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Beaufort County Facebook page to register and start bidding for the auction in early September. You do not need to be a registered Bill Verity Cup golfer to bid and win auction items.
Between all revenue streams for this event, NBC Boys and Girls Clubs estimates a net of $50,000 raised, helping contribute to the nearly $600,000 it costs to run its operations in that area. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Beaufort County currently serves over 250 youth in six school-based programs at Whale Branch Middle, Whale Branch Elementary, Shanklin, Broad River, Lady’s Island, and St. Helena. The Clubs are intensely focused on delivering the mission and serve youth in academic programming focused on career and academic preparedness, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. Each year, the Clubs rely on golfing events like these to reach funding goals.
